Chris Day, MIRM, Commercial Director
Chris has spent some 46 years in Commercial Management, mainly in the UK Construction Industry, for large Infrastructure and Commercial projects, and at Business level for several major companies. In addition, he led the Risk Management Services for 3 companies and successfully applied it to many major projects – which gained him an International award from the Institute of Risk Management in 2010.
Whilst he is relatively new to the Education Sector he has first hand experience of both state and independent schools at all levels as a parent, and having served as a Governor in two schools for a total of 11 years. In addition, several of the new-build and refurbishment construction projects that he was associated with were schools, from Primary up to FE level, including some for special needs pupils.
When Andrew and Nick created Badger in 2012 they used their own experiences for their inspiration, yet they knew that this could limit the appeal to other potential users. Consequently, they decided to consult with senior members of the sector who have wider experience.
Having used this network to inform the initial Badger functionality, we have decided to continue with this strategy to ensure that Badger remains relevant and reflects the sector drivers as they change.
This advisory network has grown, and includes people who are currently teaching and administering in Independent Schools, as well as those with Inspection experience and sector based institution roles.
We consult with these advisors on an, ‘as required’ basis to test our ideas for future development and to keep abreast of sector trends so that we can respond quickly.
